| The ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza has been chosen by approximately 100 million people from around the globe as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Considered by experts as the greatest Mayan civilization ceremonial center, Chichen Itza was once capital to the Yucatan Peninsula. Among a number of impressive buildings, breathtaking Kukulcan’s “El Castillo”, is one of the most valuable pyramids in the world. Your English speaking expert Guide will conduct you through Chichen Itza’s most important buildings in a detailed guided visit. He’ll be ready for any and all of your questions. In the end you’ll have one hour free time in the site. After dinner, you'll return for a spectacular Light & Sound Show.
Highlights We’ll pick you up at your Cancun’s hotel lobby, to take you to Plaza La Fiesta-The Mexican Outlet (across the Convention Center), our meeting place. Our personnel will be waiting for you inside at the travel desk to register you and to give you a boarding pass. You’ll board a deluxe air-conditioned unit to Chichen Itza. There will be a Travel Escort on board to look after you and we’ll use the scenic toll road. Upon arrival, your Travel Escort will take care of the admission fee wrist bands, he'll help you to put them on and he'll introduce you to your English speaking Chichen Itza expert Guide, who will conduct you through Chichen Itza’s outstanding buildings in a detailed guided visit. He’ll be ready for any and all of your questions. In the end you’ll have one hour free time to either return to the buildings that interested you the most, visit different buildings, or visit the attractive site museum and library by the main entrance. He’ll let you know the time and place to contact him to take you to a local folkloric restaurant for a fresh all-you-can-eat tasteful buffet. Usually, local children in typical costumes perform folkloric dance during dinner time. Time permitting, guides will offer tourists an interesting optional side trip (not included) to visit a near-by “Cenote” (underground river collapsed caverns-very sacred sites for ancient Mayans), where you can cool off and swim (don’t forget your swimming suit and towel if interested). When dark, your Tour Escort will take you back to Kukulcan's pyramid for a spectacular light & sound show. You’ll return to Cancun and Playa del Carmen on the same unit around 11:00 PM. The driver will be stopping along the hotel zone to let passengers off at their hotel nearest spot from the avenue.
