| The ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza has been chosen by approximately 100 million people from around the globe as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Considered by experts as the most important Mayan civilization ceremonial center, Chichen Itza was once capital city to the Yucatan Peninsula. Among a large number of impressive buildings, breathtaking Kukulcan’s “El Castillo” (name given by the Spaniards-Kukulcan’s temple for the Mayas), stands as one of the most valuable pyramids in the world. Your English speaking expert Guide will conduct you through Chichen Itza’s most important buildings in a detailed guided visit. In the end, your guide will take you for a tasty regional buffet lunch.
Highlights We’ll pick you up at your Cancun’s hotel lobby, to take you to our meeting place. You’ll board a deluxe air-conditioned unit bound to Chichen Itza. There will be an onboard Travel Escort to look after you and we’ll use the scenic toll road. Your Travel Escort will introduce you to your English speaking Chichen Itza expert Guide, who will conduct you through Chichen Itza’s outstanding buildings in a detailed guided visit. He’ll be ready for any and all of your questions. In the end you’ll have one hour free time to either return to the buildings that interested you the most, visit different buildings, or visit the attractive site museum and library by the main entrance. He’ll let you know the time and place to contact him back, to take you to a local restaurant for a fresh all-you-can-eat tasteful buffet lunch. Usually, local children in typical costumes perform folkloric dances during lunch time for a tip. Time permitting, guides will offer you an interesting side trip to visit a near-by “Cenote” (underground river collapsed caverns-very sacred sites for ancient Mayans), where you can cool off and swim (if interested, don’t forget to wear your swimming suit on and to bring a towel). You’ll return to Cancun on the same unit around 6:30 p.m. The driver will be stopping along the hotel zone, at the nearest spot to your hotel from the avenue, to let you off.
