Contoy Island

 Explore Contoy Island-a unique Caribbean bird sanctuary, declared by the UNESCO “Humanity Patrimony”. Home to a large number of exotic species such as; gray pelicans, egrets, pink flamingoes, pink spatula, frigates, iguanas, giant turtles, horse shoe crab and several other migrant and endemic bird species. Set sail and explore this pristine paradise. Be amazed by the turquoise colors of the Caribbean Sea. Enjoy a full day of fun and activities, walk through untouched nature or pry with binoculars from the centrally located bird-watch tower. You may snorkel in a pristine reef full with marine colorful life. Have a delicious and extensive lunch in our private beach restaurant; sip your preferred domestic drinks all afternoon. Admire one of the Caribbean legendary sunsets on your way back to Cancun. Great fun guaranteed!

  Highlights Our gathering point is Scuba Marina, located on Km 5.5 Kukulcan Blvd. across the giant Mexican flag. Upon arrival, turn your confirmation print duly signed and show your ID. The clerk will provide you with a boarding pass and he will ask you for the US $5.00 park admission tax. Should you decide to snorkel (recommended), you’ll be requested to cover another US $5.00 snorkeling gear fee. Set sail in a 50 passenger boat and admire the Caribbean impressive turquoise colors. Enjoy a fresh continental breakfast. Snorkel in a pristine reef full with marine colorful life. Go all the way up the observation tower and pry into dozens of bird species around the lake with available binoculars, including magnificent frigates that float in the air around their nests and listen their pigeons calling them. Participate in a walking tour across the island and witness the Atlantic open ocean strength upon millenary carved rocks. Be delighted with a tasty extensive buffet lunch and your preferred domestic drinks. Relax on a calmed beach for the rest of the day. Sip your favorite drinks in the way back while admiring one of our legendary sunsets. On Thursdays, the return is around 5:00 PM, but on Tuesdays and Saturdays the return is around 6:00 PM since the boat stops on Isla Mujeres in the way back, allowing passengers stroll about and do some local handicraft shopping.

 Comments

Wear beach clothes, swimming suit, towel, easy shoes and hat. Sun tan lotion, sun screen and mosquito repellent must be biodegradable. Don't forget your camera and some cash for souvenirs, snorkeling gear, National Park admission, tips and your hotel way back transportation.
