The caverns with a collapsed ceiling were called “Cenote” by the Mayans. These were very sacred places where the gods provided them with water and were the pass to their infra-world; therefore here was where their human sacrifices and most secret rituals took place. Bring along diving license certification and ID, wear hat, sunglasses, comfortable clothing and shoes, an additional set of dry clothes, swimming suit (on) and towel. To avoid pollution sun block or sun tan lotion must be biodegradable and you should wear it, after you are done with diving. Consider some extra money for drinks, snacks, shopping and tips. You must show up at least 30 minutes prior to departure time.
